What the internet would've looked like in 1951

I'm not sure which is stranger, that incoming Hinds County sheriff Tyrone Lewis is selling water bottles and nylon bags, or that Jackson Jambalaya thinks it's amusing to make fun of how (some) black people talk:
That's right. Yo' Sheriff wants yo' money. Cuz we all know dat's what its about: mo money mo money mo money. Our two reviewers even gave it two special Zorro snaps. Get your Ty-rone Lewis merchandise now. And remember: no job, no problem, no credit, no problem, no money, PROBLEM!. Contact our flygirls below to get yo' Tyrone Lewis merchandise ....
But remember: Mississippi Republicans aren't racist, and anyone who suggests otherwise is a liberal bigot.

  2. You dumbass. That was an In Living Color Skit I was using. You got a problem with the Wayan's brothers?

You sure don't seem to mind when I make fun of rednecks or psycho private school cheerleader moms but let it be black politicians and suddenly you have a conniption.

Next time I make fun of a redneck I better see a post here criticizing me for doing so as it makes fun of white people.

Since you are too stupid to miss the point, it is Tyrone Lewis is not even in office yet and is selling merchandise with the SHeriff's logo on it as well as his name.

By the way, is he allowed to use the sheriff's logo as a private citizen to make money? Guess you're too smart to get that point.

  3. KF, that is a quaint notion that quoting black folks in a different context eliminates the possibility of offense. Since some black comedians use the word "nigger," I guess you can start using it too.

Rednecks and psycho cheerleader moms weren't enslaved for 200 years.

And as my post said, Lewis's selling that merchandise is indeed strange. Wouldn't surprise me if it was improper or illegal to sell stuff with the seal on it.

But your "Living Color" bit just gives the impression that your problem with Lewis is that he's black. That's not just offensive, it's silly, given the number of legitimate concerns to have about Lewis.

  4. Whatever. You're just a hypersensitive pantywaist probably of Gallic descent who still suffers nightmares over what Gaius Julius did to your people 2,000 years ago. I make fun of everyone on my website. Like Dirty harry, I make no distinction as I crack on everyone. Don't like it, don't read it. Probably one of those people who gets in a car and drives 2 mph following his kid on his bike everywhere he goes.

You seem to have no problem whatsoever with Mr. Lewis pimping out the Hinds County Sheriff's logo. Where does the money go by the way? To the county? Or to his pocket? You seem to have no problem with him selling his testimony for cases UNDER HIS COMMAND to civil lawyers or testifying as an expert witness on his expertise as a police chief while he was police chief. Better yet, letting his son use the academy for money and breaking the law in doing so. But I make fun of him or use parody to make a point and you get your feelings hurt.

Get a pair of balls because you obviously have none as well as a warped moral compass.

  5. by the way, are you saying black people in general talk like the guys in that Living Color sketch? Only someone who believes in that stereotype is going to think what you wrote.
    Now who is promoting stereotypes?

As for not reading what I don't like, I can do that; or I can read it and criticize it. If that bothers you so much, well, perhaps I'm not the only gonadally-impaired blogger in town.
